The 4x4 Initiative Foundation has donated school shoes and pledged general support to the flood-affected families.

The relocation site at Farm 508, established by the City of Windhoek to accommodate flood victims, is beginning to take shape, with additional support pouring in from various stakeholders.

The 4x4 Initiative Foundation has become the latest with a donation of school shoes for children from the three families.

As relocation efforts continue, authorities and supporting stakeholders urge families who are still residing in vulnerable areas, such as riverbeds, to seize the opportunity to move to Farm 508. 

With the assurance of the process underway of acquiring plots as provisioned two years back. 

The Acting Executive Director in the Office of the Prime Minister, Shivute Indongo expressed gratitude to those who contributed to the relocation and assistance rendered to the affected families.

The Chief Regional Officer for |Khomas, Clement Mafwila urged those who are still located in the riverbeds to make use of this opportunity. 

The growing support network is working to provide essential infrastructure for the affected community, including a prefab police station, a clinic, and cleared plots for the construction of primary and secondary schools. 

To date, 200 mattresses, blankets, stoves, cooking essentials, food, school shoes and clothing items have been supplied to support the affected families, however, despite these efforts, many flood victims remain hesitant to relocate.
