Swapo's Political Bureau member, Frans Kapofi, has called on party members and supporters to vote for Moses ||Khumub in the Guinas by-election scheduled for next week.
Kapofi spoke at a mini rally at the Ondera Farm.
He stated that Swapo is the only tested and capable political party deserving the Ondera community's support to continue its developmental projects and programs.
"That candidate is comrade Moses ||Khumub. Are you ready to vote for him? There should be nobody here but Moses; there should be no other party here but Swapo."
He also urged the Ondera community to produce its own food on the currently idle farm to minimize dependency on drought relief supplies.
"Ondera is a large farm. Ondera has produced food in the past. I used to buy maize and vegetables here, but what is happening today? Comrade Netumbo says it will not be business as usual. You are many here; you can work with your own hands and produce food. You cannot rely on drought relief; if you are unable, you must do your part, and the government will ensure you can produce here."
Production came to a standstill at the project due to a water pipe burst in October last year, and the tractor has been dysfunctional for eight months and is currently under repair.
Oshikoto Swapo Party Coordinator Armas Amukwiyu is optimistic that the party's mini rallies and door-to-door campaigns will secure victory.
"We all know why we are here. We are here because Swapo has prepared itself to face this election with one common objective: to secure a resounding victory through our candidate, comrade Moses ||Khumub."
Swapo candidate for the Guinas by-election, Moses ||Khumub, stated that if elected to lead the constituency, he will implement innovative ideas to address the challenges facing the Ondera community and the Guinas Constituency.
"The way we have come together proves that we are eager to tackle unemployment and reduce it, defeat poverty, and together elect me, Moses, to empower you—not to dominate over people, but to use innovative thinking to bring solutions to the challenges facing Guinas and Namibia."
