The Namibia Training Authority (NTA) plans to embark on a sensitisation drive in the ||Kharas and Hardap regions to boost enrolment at the recently constructed Keetmanshoop Vocational and Training Centre.
This emerged during a stakeholder meeting NTA had at Keetmanshoop.
The purpose of the stakeholder meeting was to inform the regional leadership about the priority list that the vocational and training centre will offer.
The centre will provide NQF-registered programmes in health and safety, water supply and sanitation, solar installation and maintenance, and electrical engineering.
Set to open its doors for trainees in June this year, the training authority aims to ensure that at least 60%–80% of the first intake comes from the southern regions.
The recruitment process for staff of the Keetmanshoop VTC is already underway, with 400 applications received for four cleaner positions.
The Governor of ||Kharas, Aletha Frederick, encouraged inhabitants to promote local enrolment at the soon-to-be-opened Keetmanshoop Vocational and Training Centre.
