The Ministry of Higher Education, Technology, and Innovation calls on institutions of higher learning to release academic records and certificates of the April-May 2024 graduates with outstanding debts at these institutions.

The ministry, in a statement, says Cabinet has approved and directed that the outstanding student debts of these graduates submitted to the Namibia Students Financial Assistance Fund (NSFAF) will be settled by NSFAF as a loan to the graduates.

Graduates with outstanding debt are also requested to first engage the NSFAF to enter into a loan contract before they can collect their academic documents or certificates.

They are advised to take along proof of the signed contract with NSFAF.

The ministry says this decision was made to enable graduates to secure and create employment, elevate themselves out of poverty, and actively contribute to national development.
