Ombara Eben Tjozohongo Nguvauva II of the Ovambanderu Traditional Authority has called upon his community members to promote cultural preservation and maintain peace and unity while fostering development in honour of late Ombara Munjuku || Nguvauva.
The Ombara made this call during the annual remembrance day of the late Ombara Nguvauva at Ezorongondo village in the Epukiro constituency.
Ombara Eben Tjozohongo Nguvauva II pointed out that the late Ombara Munjuku || Nguvauva worked tirelessly during his tenure for the improvement of his community's livelihoods.
Tjozohongo added that the late played a crucial role as a liberation icon towards the country's independence with other leaders.
The late has also been very instrumental when it comes to solving community disputes in an amicable manner, noted Tjozongoro.
The constituency councillor of Epukiro, Packy Pakarae, said that while the government has made some strides in terms of development in the constituency, it is now expected from local people to take care of the given infrastructure.
Pakarae reveals that water, road infrastructure, and education remain some of the priority areas the constituency is set to continue with when it comes to addressing community development; traditional leaders have to play a leading role. The
Munjuku || Nguvauva led his community for more than 50 years before he died at the age of 85.
