The Samora Machel Constituency councillor says there is a need for ongoing engagements with the relocated residents of Farm 508.

Nestor Kalola says the area's new residents can contribute to the setting up of some of the utilities identified.

Councillor of Samora Machel Constituency, Nestor Kalola, says the ongoing development of Farm 508 requires inclusive efforts towards service delivery, such as employing the residents, which he says can help speed up its completion before the financial year-end in June.

"Not to get people from the community, but at least it's more important if we are engaged as leaders to know that there's something happening because now if you take people, but I am not aware of it, it will also be a challenge. On the other hand, I will also say no! Where did you take them from? I don't know them, but we need to engage so that I know these people are coming from this side because it is my priority when I came up with the project. It is for my people to benefit, and someone coming out of my constituency, you see! I thank you!".

A resident at Farm 508, Stanley Kaangundue shared his sentiments.

"The clinic and the police station, as you can see there, they have started now building already, so they started with their construction, so another problem that we are facing is the City of Windhoek. They brought us there, but now people started digging holes in front of our houses, but the city of Windhoek did not even come to us and tell us whether we are supposed to move or we are supposed to do something else, but those people, they have started with their constructions while our houses are still there, so we don't know what is going on. So that is another frustration that we are also facing in the location as we are talking right now."

The Chief Regional Officer at the |Khomas Regional Council, Clement Mafwila, says that the residents will be engaged as they have agreed with the City of Windhoek to organise a public meeting, where the project's ongoing development will be laid out, as well as what is expected from residents by the contractors on site.
