Headspring Investments, a Rosatom Company, assisted local schools in Leonardville, located in the Aminuis constituency of the Omaheke Region, with garden projects aimed at ensuring food sustainability.
Speaking at the official handover of the garden project in Leonardville, the Deputy Minister of Urban and Rural Development, Evelyn !Nawases-Taeyele, emphasized that addressing the various challenges faced by the education sector requires the involvement of all stakeholders.
"The learners here will have access to homegrown fruits and vegetables directly from their own garden, meaning you will enjoy fresh meals from your own garden. This is particularly important in Omaheke, where malnutrition remains a critical challenge and a concern for our government."
The Acting Deputy Education Director for the region, Eliakim Kavari, stated that the learners are now expected to take responsibility for maintaining the garden.
"And the parents must support the school to maintain discipline. We should allow teachers and school administrators the time they need to manage and teach effectively, so we are very thankful for Headspring Investments."
