As part of its corporate social responsibility and ongoing efforts to fight cancer, Bank Windhoek, through its Cancer Apple Project, has contributed N$2.5 million to the Cancer Association of Namibia.

Since its inception in 2000, the Bank Windhoek Cancer Apple Project has raised a total of N$38.4 million for the Cancer Association of Namibia.

The funds support outreach programs that emphasize early cancer screening in local communities.

The Managing Director of Bank Windhoek, Baronice Hans, states that the partnership is a testament to collective efforts driven by shared goals, a sense of community, and the joy of celebrating milestones together.

"The fight against cancer is a global effort, and advancements in medicine and technology have turned many impossibilities into realities. However, much work remains to be done. The Bank Windhoek Cancer Apple Project, now celebrating its 25th year, exemplifies the power of collaboration. This initiative is far more than a fundraising effort; it is a meticulously orchestrated operation involving sourcing, distributing, and mobilizing dedicated teams who work tirelessly behind the scenes."

According to the Global Cancer Observatory, new cancer cases are on the rise, along with an increased annual death toll.

Hans urged all stakeholders to remain committed to raising awareness, offering support, and extending compassion to those who need it most.
