President Nangolo Mbumba and Vice President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah were among those who laid wreaths at the mausoleum of the late President Dr. Hage Geingob.
Family members of the late Geingob invited dignitaries and senior state officials gathered at Heroes Acre this morning to lay wreaths and commemorate the first anniversary of the death of the late statesman.
The atmosphere was sombre, evident in the expressions and demeanour of those in attendance as they gathered to remember the day the late President, Dr. Hage Geingob, died.
The widow Monica Geingos, President Mbumba, Vice President Nandi-Ndaitwah, Prime Minister Sara Kuugongelwa-Amadhila, and the Secretary General of the Swapo Party Sophia Shangingwa were among those who laid wreaths.
They were followed by the family and selected invited guests.
Pastor Brian Mbazuvara of the Inner City Congregation lightened up the mood with scriptures while remembering some of the lighter moments of the late president.
