Namdia donates cancer trailer to underprivileged communities

Namdia, in line with its corporate social responsibility drive, has made a significant contribution to Windhoek's underprivileged communities by donating a multipurpose cancer trailer. 

The gesture aligns with the sentiment expressed by the former First Lady during her tribute, emphasising the prioritisation of health initiatives.

Monica Geingos addressed the increasing incidence of cancer during her tribute to her late husband. 

She also noted the significant increase in men seeking cancer screening, following the late President's own battle with the disease.

Moussa Faki pays condolences to Geingo family at Casa Rosalia

The Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Moussa Faki Mahamat, visited Casa Rosalia to offer his condolences to former First Lady Monica Geingos and the children.

During his visit, Mahamat highlighted the significance of Namibia as a product of continental solidarity and organisation, emphasising the unity and strength that bind African nations. 

He shared personal experiences of benefiting from the late Geingob's guidance and brotherly counsel, recounting a meaningful dinner where they discussed the future of Africa for over 30 minutes. 

Former DRC president among Geingob mourners

Dignitaries, including the former President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, visited the residence of the late President Hage Geingob and expressed condolences to his widow, Monica Geingos, and children.

The mood continues to be sombre at Casa Rosalia as the family of the late President Geingob comes to terms with his passing.

DRC's former President Joseph Kabila consoled Geingos and the late Geingob's children, after which he signed the book of condolences.

SADC Region counterparts pay tribute to late President Geingob

Tributes have also been streaming in from the late President Hage Geingob's counterparts in the SADC Region.

One of the first tributes was from Zambia's President Hakainde Hichilema.

He said Zambia and SADC have lost a true friend, a liberation icon, a distinguished diplomat, a senior African statesman, and an elder brother.

He added that Zambia's thoughts and prayers are with the widow, Monica Geingos, and her family, the Namibian people, and the entire African continent.

First Family enumerated

President Hage Geingob has reminded citizens of their duty to take part in the ongoing Namibian Population and Housing Census.

Dr. Geingob and First Lady Monica Geingos were enumerated a short while ago at their family residence in Windhoek.

The Head of State also appealed to commercial farmers to cooperate and grant access to the enumerators.

His plea follows reports of some farmers locking their gates and others refusing to provide the correct information.
