President-elect and Swapo Party Vice President, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, has urged all Swapo delegates to reaffirm their dedication to the party's core values of solidarity, justice, and unity at the 6th extraordinary congress that started in Windhoek this morning.
Nandi-Ndaitwah is set to be elected as the party's president following the vacant position left after the death of the late President Dr. Hage Geingob.
Nandi-Ndaitwah stressed that recommitting to the values of the party is fundamental to advancing development and fostering societal and economic progress for all Namibians.
She also emphasised the significance of honouring the legacy of the late Founding President Dr. Sam Nujoma, the late President Dr. Hage Geingob, and all the leaders who fought for the liberation of an independent and unified country.
This, she said, is crucial in preserving the ideals that laid the foundation for Namibia's freedom and prosperity.
Nandi-Ndaitwah also recognised President Nangolo Mbumba for his commitment during the passing of the late founding president, Dr. Sam Nujoma.
She expressed her gratitude to the Namibian Defence Force, government officials, and members of the public for their significant contributions and involvement, which ensured that the entire process went smoothly.
