Water regulations remain a key concern for many communities and businesses in the ||Kharas Region.

Stakeholders directly affected by water use regulations have expressed their support for an initiative aimed at raising awareness about the newly enacted Water Resource Management Act.

Speaking on the sidelines of a stakeholder engagement in Keetmanshoop, they highlighted the importance of understanding these new regulations and how they will impact water access and management in the region.

The engagement introduced the key provisions of the Act to stakeholders and enhanced awareness and understanding of their rights and responsibilities.

Additionally, it highlighted the urgent need for compliance as outlined in the Act and promoted collaboration among some institutions, NGOs, and the private sector.

The Act became effective last August, replacing the draconian Water Act of 1956, and aims to promote efficient management of the country's water resources.
