The Namibian Institute of Mining and Technology (NIMT) Southern Campus has extended appreciation to the ||Kharas Governor's Office for its commitment in the promotion of higher education.

The Governor's office played a crucial role in ensuring the enrolment of 28 students for the 2025 intake at NIMT Southern Campus by covering their registration fees.

The students enrolled in bricklaying and plastering, electrical, boiler making, and auto mechanics trades offered by NIMT.

NIMT management noted the governor's office's financial support has significantly benefitted students in need.

"Sometimes, a thank you may sound so simple, but really it's coming from the heart. That's what we are here today to do. Our programme reaches more people in the ||Kharas Region because of the unselfish and relentless persistence in the efforts of your office to assist."

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, bricklaying and plastering trade trainees assured the governor of their commitment to achieving academic excellence.

"We, the NIMT March 2025 intake trainees, want to convey our heartfelt gratitude to all the members of the governor's office and regional council of the ||Kharas Region. On a short notice you did not fail us, yet you surely tried your utmost best to make the world a better place for the new generation."

"Thank you for changing mirrors into windows; through education, our lives will improve by leaving this better community and world than what we have found."

The NIMT Southern Campus principal handed over a certificate of appreciation as a gesture of gratitude to the governor.

"This certificate reminds you and rewards you in life when you see people you invested in and you have made a success."

Expressing gratitude to the NIMT management and trainees for the appreciation, Kharas Governor reaffirmed her office commitment to providing inclusive and equitable quality education to all in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals.

"The uncertainty or fear of losing this opportunity to improve their socio-economic situation should compel us as leaders, and that's what I have said on that platform, to take extraordinary and decisive actions. And today I am proud to say that the Office of the Governor has made sure that these 28 did not miss the opportunity."

The governor urged the trainees to remain perseverant throughout their studies.
