Fifteen-year-old Beyonce !Kharuxas, the last of the three young girls who were brutally murdered at Okahandja, was buried today.

Beyoncé was remembered as a shy introvert and often isolated teenager.

She was known to find comfort in the company of her close friends, and her death, along with those of five-year-old Ingrid Maasdorp and six-year-old Roswind Fabianu, has left the community in anguish.

Beyoncé's older sister lit a candle in her memory before the service began.

The service was attended by family members, friends, community members, and local officials.

Among those who came to offer sympathy were the Mayor of Okahandja, Beatrice Kotungondo, and Councillor Natasha Brinkman.

"The entire municipality of Okahandja sympathises with the family. Let's not grieve like we don't have hope; the everlasting Lord will comfort us. May the soul of Beyoncé rest in eternal peace. This will be the last gathering we will have, and then we take her to her last resting place. The municipality, the community of Okahandja, will be here for you, even after the funeral. Knock on our doors; we are here for you."

As the casket was lowered into the ground, many wept as they came to terms with the reality of her death.

Loved ones shared memories of her final days, holding on tightly to the moments they had left with her.

Beyonce's body was discovered by a passer-by in an open area at the Five Rand Location in Okahandja.

She was raped and murdered.

Pastoor Jacob Tjaseb urged men to be guardians, not threats, in their communities.

"If we, as men, create fear in the community and no acknowledgement of women, we are all human beings. We are human beings before being men or women or a child. Humanity is what the creator has put upon us, so a man should know the strength he has; a woman may or may not have it because all things come from God and because he is the creator. That's why Beyoncé's death has shocked us all."

No arrest has been made yet in connection with her death.
