The body of a 35-year-old woman was found in a riverbed in Katutura this morning.

The deceased was identified by a relative as Delysia ||Garoës.

||Garoes was identified by her brother Ricardo ||Garoeb who informed nbc News that he was called to the scene by community members who told him that his sister was lying in the riverbed with little movement.

According to ||Garoeb, he was informed that Delysia was mumbling a name.

||Garoëb says that when he found his sister's body, her underwear was pulled down and her dress lifted.

The discovery was made around 05:00 this morning after community members in the surrounding houses heard a scream from a woman, asking a man to stop.

However, community members at the scene expressed frustration, saying the police and medics arrived only hours later.

The police have yet to release a report.
