A Director in the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Land Reform says China expressed willingness to work with Namibia, particularly in the agriculture sector.
Mesag Mulunga, therefore, called on Namibian businesspeople to take advantage of the opportunity to develop the country's agricultural sector to improve food security.
He highlighted the need for technologies such as water quality testing, hatcheries, and fingerling production to be brought to Namibia, noting that the Chinese are interested in forming joint venture partnerships with Namibian businesses.
"That capacity we want it to also be brought to Namibia. And the Chinese are quite willing and very much interested in working with Africa and Namibia in particular to come and assist in a mutually beneficial fashion. And some of these capabilities are in joint venture partnerships with Namibian businesses. And through these forums, they have actually expressed willingness to identify joint venture partners in Namibia who will come and help in the modernisation of Africa's development across all sectors."
