The Governor of the Kavango East Region, Hamunyera Hambyuka, stated that Namibia has much to learn from Zimbabwe’s agricultural sector, particularly in adopting agribusiness models that support successful farming, poverty reduction, and employment creation.

During a visit to a piggery in rural Mashonaland West Province on Wednesday, Hambyuka applauded the strong collaboration between the Zimbabwean government and its local farmers, noting their efforts in building self-reliant and thriving farming enterprises.

Agriculture remains one of the key focus areas under the renewed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Kavango East Region and Mashonaland West Province.

Hambyuka also encouraged the farmers and business owners in his delegation to share the knowledge and insights gained from the site visits with their peers back home to help strengthen Namibia’s agricultural value chain.
