The Namibia-Venezuela Solidarity Group announced the launch of a signature campaign in Namibia in support of the Venezuelan people.

The exercise seeks to garner support from the international community, following the recent military deployment by the United States in the Caribbean Sea.

In a statement, the solidarity group said the signature campaign is a defence of international law, sovereignty, and regional peace.

The collected signatures will be submitted to multilateral bodies such as the African Union, the United Nations, and the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States as a reflection of the African peoples' stance against external threats.

Therefore, the solidarity group invites students, workers, community leaders, social organisations, academics, and Namibians in general to join the initiative.

Signatures can be submitted at the Embassy of Venezuela in Windhoek, from Monday to Friday between 9:00 and 16:00, or through digital channels enabled by the group.

The group further expressed full support for President Nicolás Maduro as the legitimate leader of the Venezuelan people.
