The Landless Peoples Movement (LPM) has announced the expulsion of Harald Kambrude following his public declaration on social media that he will be contesting the upcoming Regional Council elections as an independent candidate.

LPM secretary Dawid Eigub said in a statement today that Kambrude's actions do not align with the party's core values and principles.

Kambrude, who is also a member of the National Council, declared his intention to run as an independent candidate in the Rehoboth West Urban Constituency, where he was previously elected in 2020.

He further stated that he would be departing from the LPM due to irreconcilable differences, without providing further details on the matter.

Lifalaza Simaata, the spokesperson for the LPM, emphasised the significance of party members aligning and adhering to the party's protocols and code of conduct. Simaata added that when an individual breaches the established procedures and protocols, the party can no longer accommodate them.
