The Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) has awarded the contract to print and deliver ballot papers for the 2025 Regional Councils and Local Authorities elections to the South African company Uniprint Global.
The ECN said in terms of the N$4.9 million contract, a total of 1,817,100 ballot papers will be printed for the Regional Councils elections and 912,700 for the Local Authorities elections.
The procurement process for the ballot paper tender was conducted through open international bidding, with Uniprint emerging as the lowest evaluated bidder among four competing international companies.
Printing will take place in Johannesburg from the 22nd to the 31st of October, with the ballot papers expected to arrive in Namibia between the first and the second of November.
The ECN said it has briefed Political Party Liaison Committee members on the progress of ballot procurement, saying political parties can observe the printing process, but at their own cost.
The Commission has ensured that strict quality and security measures are in place to prevent electoral fraud, confirming that political parties can observe the printing process at their own cost.
