Namibia's High Commissioner to South Africa, Nangula Ithete, has presented her letters of credence to President Cyril Ramaphosa.

Ithete was one of the 20 foreign envoys who handed their letters of credence from heads of mission-designate.

The ceremony was held in Pretoria.

Ithete assured South Africa's President that she will use her tenure to foster trade, investment, and closer diplomatic relations between Namibia and South Africa.

"I assure you, Your Excellency, that I am here to promote and nurture the bonds of friendship and solidarity that so exist between our two countries and peoples. Thank you, Mr President, for receiving me."

Namibia and South Africa enjoy excellent and expanding bilateral cooperation across all levels, as evidenced by the signing of over 150 agreements and memoranda of understanding spanning the political, economic, social, defence, and security sectors.
