Ngweze Primary School, located in the Zambezi Region, has recognised the achievements of learners and teachers in the previous academic year.

The school presented certificates to 45 learners who achieved first position from grade 1 to grade 6, as well as seven overall best performers per grade and two overall best performers per phase.

Two trophies were awarded for grade 2 and the social science field.

In addition, 45 teachers, four administration officers and five cleaners also received certificates.

The school's average performance has increased from 80% in 2023 to 90% in 2025.

Irene Nkwazi, the school principal, said that the event aimed to honour the hard work, dedication, and sacrifices of both teachers and learners.

"You and I can achieve great things if we focus. May we enjoy and learn from this moment, celebrate with those who achieved good results, and be inspired to work on the same path."

Former Head of Department at the school, Rodrick Likando, emphasised that education is not only important for employment, but it is essential in solving real problems faced by communities.

"We are faced with floods right here in our region, year after year. We need great minds, critical thinkers who will come up with innovative ideas to be able to use this floodwater to our advantage. We need innovative minds who will come up with strategies to develop our town. The strategic aspect of having these critical minds starts from the classroom."
