President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has pledged to maintain her commitment to social responsibilities despite her role as President.

Dr. Nandi-Ndaitwah made the remarks during a courtesy visit by the Omaludi Organising Committee.

The head of state has served as patron of the Omaludi Festival since 2018. 

Held in Okongo in the Ohangwena Region, by the village council, the festival showcases livestock exhibits, agricultural showcases, cultural displays, and networking opportunities, bringing together communities and industry players from across the country.

The Chairperson of the Okongo Village Council, Tuhafeni Shapopi, highlighted the festival's importance in boosting the town's economy and promoting it as a tourist destination.

The 5th Omaludi Agricultural Festival will take place from 25 to 30 May near the Okongo airstrip.
