Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety and Security, Edward Wambo, has reminded staff members about the central role they play in service delivery to the masses.

Wambo was on a familiarisation visit to the Omaheke Region.

Wambo informed staff members that as people responsible for civil registration, immigration services, public safety, law enforcement and correctional services, their work is an essential part of the daily functioning of the state.

This, he highlighted places a significant obligation upon every member of the ministry to deliver.

“As public servants, we are entrusted with duties that affect the dignity, security, rights and well-being of our people. We must therefore handle these responsibilities with professionalism, integrity, efficiency and a strong sense of purpose. Our Ministry is guided by the motto serving with excellence; this must be more than a slogan displayed on our paper or spoken during official occasions; it must be reflected in the quality of our work, the manner in which we interact with the public and the standards we set for ourselves every day.”

He stressed that the success of the Ministry depends on teamwork, encouraging them to avoid working in silos, duplication of effort, communication gaps and unnecessary frustration.

“The success cannot be measured solely by resources spent or activities undertaken; it must be measured by tangible results and meaningful improvements in service delivery. Our efforts contribute directly to the implementation of NDP 6, the Swapo manifesto and the Ministry's strategic plan of 2025-2030.”

Wambo also engaged with the community.
