President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has reinforced the spirit of unity between Namibia, Tanzania, and other African nations.

This was done when the President named a tree "Umoja", meaning "unity" in Swahili, at the handover of a plot for Namibia's embassy at Magufuli City in the Dodoma Region of Tanzania.

Named after former Tanzanian President John Magufuli, Magufuli City houses government ministries, diplomatic offices, public institutions and commercial areas.

Namibia has been allocated a plot of 1.9 hectares, with construction expected to commence once documentation is completed.

For President Nandi-Ndaitwah, Tanzania remains a place she calls home.

The city of Mufunguli is located about 17 kilometres from the city centre of Dodoma.
