The Ministry of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sports, Arts and Culture, in collaboration with UNICEF Namibia, officially launched the School Sports for Development (SS4D) Program under the Integrated Physical Education and School Sports (IPESS) policy on Thursday in Windhoek.

The program recognizes sport as a powerful tool for education, social inclusion, and youth development. Beyond physical activity, school sport contributes to the development of critical life skills such as leadership, teamwork, discipline, resilience, and responsible decision-making.

Aligned with Namibia’s Vision 2030 and the Sixth National Development Plan (NDP6), the initiative seeks to ensure that all learners, regardless of gender, ability, background, or geographical location, have access to quality physical education and meaningful sporting opportunities.

The Vice President commanded the Ministry and all its partners for their continued collaboration, stating that coordinated efforts create enabling environments for learners to realize their full potential.

“Together, we are building healthier, more confident, and empowered young citizens who will contribute meaningfully to Namibia’s development and prosperity,” she emphasized.
