The Swakopmund Constituency Office has handed over business equipment worth N$168,000 to local entrepreneurs through the Constituency Development Fund Support Programme.
The initiative is aimed at empowering small businesses, creating employment opportunities and promoting sustainable livelihoods within the constituency.
The equipment handed over included building materials, gardening equipment, power tools, commercial butcher meat slices and generators.
Swakopmund Councillor Victor Maswahu encouraged beneficiaries to use the equipment responsibly and to grow businesses that will contribute to the local economy while creating opportunities for others.
“These resources can become a catalyst for employment creation and economic participation. Success should not end with personal gain alone. As you and your business grow, I urge you to consider how you can contribute to uplifting others by creating jobs.”
Maswahu also acknowledged the Erongo Regional Council and other stakeholders for supporting initiatives aimed at improving the livelihoods of community members.
"Their efforts continue to ensure that development reaches communities and that it is directed towards those ones who are willing to work towards a better future.”
