Dr Bryan Eiseb has officially taken over as Director General of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
Eiseb succeeds the founding Director General Paulus Noa, who has now ended after a 20-year tenure.
Noa symbolically handed over his office keys and the ACC "Bible" to Dr Eiseb, marking the transition of a new administration.
Eiseb, the former head of the Financial Intelligence Centre, was nominated by President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, and his appointment was approved by the National Assembly.
In his inaugural address, Dr Eiseb described corruption as greedy individuals that steal from Namibians, vowing to deal with the bad elements without fear or favour.
He pledged to strengthen asset recovery and enforcement.
The new sheriff also stated that the ACC would ensure communities across the country understand and access anti-corruption laws.
