nbc DG highlights tourism benefits of Miss Namibia, Miss Teen pageants

nbc Director General Stanley Similo says the tourism sector stands to benefit from beauty pageants such as Miss Namibia.

Pageants are known to play an integral role in promoting tourism by attracting visitors from different regions to participate in or witness such events. 

Speaking on Namibia Connects following the successful hosting of Miss Teen and Miss Namibia, Similo emphasised the impact beauty contests can have on the tourism sector.

Namibia, Angola to extend broadcasting cooperation

Namibian Broadcasting Corporation Director General Stanley Similo says Namibia and Angola's cooperation in broadcasting will be extended to include television.

Currently, only nbc National FM has programmes catering to Angolan citizens living in Namibia.

The Director General said this at the three-day Senior Officials Meeting for the Inaugural Session of the Angola-Namibia Bi-National Commission, currently underway in Luanda, Angola.

ACC calls for coordinated efforts in curbing corruption scourge

The Anti-Corruption Commission has appealed for an international coordinated effort in the investigation of money laundering-related organised crimes.
 
The appeal was made at the commemoration of Anti-Corruption Day at Katima Mulilo.


The Anti-Corrutiption Commission (ACC) marked the day in different regions to create awareness for people to understand what the consequences of corruption could be and their role thereto.

nbc DG satisfied with quality and reception to new crop of programmes

The Namibian Broadcasting Cooperation's (nbc) Director General says four programs that the corporation introduced a year ago have thrived in filling a void within communities.

Stanley Similo says the national broadcaster will continue to look for ways to improve these programs through the advancement of technology and by integrating sections of the population that may have been left out.

Molelo Radio Drama Project launched

The Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (nbc) has launched the Molelo Radio Drama Project, a new venture that promises to be a game changer in the country's entertainment economy.

The project was launched by the national broadcaster's Director General Stanley Similo in Windhoek.

The project received an overwhelming response to its call for proposals from the public for radio dramas in various languages.

The Molelo Radio Drama Project was initiated by the nbc to promote Namibian cultural diversity and art through local dramas in all languages.
