Housebreaking and theft cases have dominated the weekend crime report, with incidents recorded in Windhoek, Mariental, Rundu, and Ndama.

Police also reported cases of rape, murder, armed robbery, and serious road accidents.

In Windhoek's Hakahana Residential Area, an unknown suspect allegedly broke into a property and stole security equipment, a pistol holder, two cooler boxes, and N$3,000 cash.

In Mariental's Aimablaagte, household property valued at about N$63,300 was stolen during a break-in.

Another housebreaking was reported at Rundu, where property worth about N$15,500 was stolen.

In Ndama, property valued at nearly N$11,000 was also stolen.

In Katutura's Shanghai Street, an unknown suspect allegedly entered a yard and stole a motor gate worth N$12,000.

Police also recorded an armed robbery at Omulunga near Grootfontein, where three armed men allegedly stole N$16,000 and a cellphone after assaulting a security guard.

At Oshakati, two women were arrested for allegedly selling jewelry and other items made from elephant ivory without a permit.

Meanwhile, police are investigating an alleged murder at Keetmanshoop, where a 39-year-old man was arrested in connection with the death of his girlfriend.

Rape cases were reported in Okahandja, Maltahohe, and Outjo, involving women and two minors—eight and 11 years old.

Police further recorded serious road incidents at Omuthiya, Tsandi, and Groot-Aub, where a one-year-old baby and a four-year-old boy were killed.
