Swapo Party candidates vying for the three top positions took their internal campaigns to Omuthiya in the Oshikoto Region to engage delegates to the upcoming congress next month.

The candidates are canvassing for support, explaining to the delegates why they should be voted for.

In his welcoming remarks, Oshikoto Regional Swapo Coordinator, who is also contesting for the Secretary-General position, Armas Amukwiyu, called on the candidates competing for the top positions, as well as for the Central Committee, to strictly adhere to the rules of engagement.

Amukwiyu also called on fellow contestants and delegates to have a clear and comradely campaign.

"My further appeal to all the congress delegates is to apply a high sense of party discipline during this very complex process and be vigilant. Our party should not be lured into factions that would undermine the current and future life of our party. Hence, we are all obliged to avoid anything and everything possible to cause division in our party."
