Elections for new political leadership at the Usakos Town Council could not continue after Independent Patriot for Change councilor and former Mayor, Wilfred Wiese, allegedly disrupted the legal process.

Wiese, according to one of the councilors' lawyers, Irene Simeon-Kurtz, allegedly usurped the role of the magistrate when he interrupted the presiding officer and declared the meeting null and void.

The town's former mayor, during a planned election and swearing-in ceremony, allegedly accused Swapo councilor, Irene Simeon Kurtz, of being unethical and owing the Town Council for municipal services.

Simeon-Kurtz has denied the allegation and, through her lawyers, has warned Wiese about the allegedly defamatory remarks.

Metcalfe Beukes Attorneys have demanded a sum of N$500,000 from the IPC politician within 14 days, saying that this is not the first time that he has made unfounded allegations against Simeon-Kurtz.

The lawyers have further threatened to drag Wiese to court should he fail to pay the said amount.

Wiese's phone remained off when nbc attempted to get a comment.

The Usakos Town Council remains without political leadership.
