Rain accompanied by a strong wind has blown off the roofs of 12 houses at Okombahe in the Daures Constituency.

The storm also damaged several buildings and uprooted trees, including the famous Acacia, causing further damage to two cars.

Several electrical cables were pulled out, leaving the settlement without electricity for up to three hours.

A resident, Adolfine #Goses, narrates how she survived the storm while preparing a meal in the kitchen.

Her bedroom is left completely without a roof.

"I was in shock because I had never seen such wind and rain in my life. I was afraid and scared for my life; I almost ran out of the house out of confusion, but something told me not to. It was as if I did it, I could be hit by corrugated iron sheets."

The storm also damaged a community kindergarten that accommodates about 40 pupils, and the administrators are appealing for assistance to rebuild it.
