The employees of Craft Bistro, who have been on strike since Monday, have opened a case of assault against police officers after they were allegedly bruised and abused.

Employees are on strike in protest over management's failure to pay them their salaries on time, mistreatment, racism, and emotional abuse.

The employees claimed that they work long hours and that staff is often hired and fired verbally.

To date, none of them have been given job descriptions for individual positions in the company.

They further claimed that management can promote or demote employees as they wish.

Speaking on behalf of the group, Svetlana Shihepo says employees have been requesting a meeting with management but without success.

They vowed to remain on strike until their employer responded to their demands.

Urs Gamma, the owner of Craft Bistro, has in the meantime filed a complaint against activist Michael Amushelelo for allegedly entering the premises without permission.

When approached for a comment, he claimed that management had requested the employees return to work but that they had thus far refused to do so.

The only way forward, he says, is to wait for a disciplinary hearing on Friday.
