President Hage Geingob has urged the Pan African Youth Union to seek an audience with the African Union for its recognition.
The Union's delegation met the President to lobby for diplomatic and financial support from Namibia.
In 2020, the coordination body for youth organizations at national, regional and continental Africa moved its headquarters from Sudan to Morocco.
President Geingob questioned why the Pan African Youth Union did not move its headquarters to Ethiopa where the AU headquarters for better coordination with the African leaders.
The Pan African Women Organization and the Pan African Youth Union were both created in 1962 as foundation institutions for decolonization process and integration process.
The Head of State says, youth and women cannot be ignored in leadership positions.
Dr. Geingob further stated that, once processes, systems and institutions are in place it does not matter who is ruling.
The Secretary General of the Pan-African Youth Union says, the organization does not need validation from the AU, as they are an integral part of the continental body.
The organization mandate he says, is to hold governments accountable to young people of the continent.
