The Windhoek High School's athletic team put up a solid performance at the Edugate Prestige Athletics competition this weekend.

Out of the capital but not out of the school team's comfort zone, the event took place at the paresis sports ground at Otjiwarongo.

The Edugate Prestige Athletics competition attracted various primary and secondary school learners from across Namibia. 45 students from Windhoek High School also took part in the competition at Otijiwarongo, where they won 64 medals in total, of which 29 were gold, 20 silver and 15 bronze.

The Athletics coordinator at Windhoek High School, Adri Wiese, reflected on what motivated the school to compete at this specific event. Wiese also highlighted that she was fascinated by how the students' ability to work together to accomplish their achievements. She pointed out that it's important to encourage sports in schools. She is confident that her school is a force in school sport and hopes that they will do even better in the future.

The Windhoek High School will be hosting a Hockey tournament this weekend.
