Boxers who will represent Namibia at the much-anticipated All Africa Games gathered in Windhoek this weekend, to fine-tune their skills ahead of their departure to Algeria. According to the organiser behind the gathering, the main purpose is to keep the boxers busy and make sure that they are ready for the task ahead. “All the boxers are training with their coaches, but we have to bring them together for a competition, because in professional boxing they have terms they use like- “Ring last”, which means you can only fight where you are selected and no other fight before the competition. That’s why we need to have such competition again just to see their fitness level” said event organiser Imms Moses. Team Namibia's assistant coach Heikky Katti is confident about the boxers' fitness level. “The preparations are going quiet well, we have been very active, and we have been pushing the boys just to make sure that they are mentally and physically ready to compete on the international level, but they are looking very good”Katti said.
