Governors visit coast to support Namibian child

It might not be rare for a group of regional governors to be in one place, especially at state functions, but a visit to a school speaks volumes of their care towards a Namibian child.

This is what happened after five governors went all out to visit the Swakopmund Secondary School, where they had encouraging words with the learners.


The regional governors of the Ohangwena, Omusati, Kunene and Oshana regions, have had a close-door meeting with Erongo Governor earlier. 

Miombo Mopane Woodland eco in Kavango, Kunene basin faces extensive degradation

Miombo Mopane Woodland eco in the Kavango and Kunene Regions basin is said to be facing extensive degradation. 

This was revealed during the Launch of the Integrated Landscape Management at Rundu.

The project aims to reduce, reverse and avoid further degradation and support the sustainable use of natural resources in the mopane-miombo belt in northern Namibia.

Nghitila says the project will demonstrate how land degradation neutrality can be achieved through the adoption of sustainable integrated management of multi-use Miombo Mopane dry land.

Omangete and Otjimuhaka Primary schools receives mattresses and school bags

The Omangete and Otjimuhaka Primary schools in Kunene are the latest to receive mattresses and school bags under the Adopt-A-school initiative under the auspices of the Seawork Fish Proccesors company at Walvis Bay.
 
The Namibia Multi-dimensional Poverty Index shows that 30 percent of children in the Kunene region are not attending primary school, as parents are unable to afford school fees and stationery.
