Six people die on B8 Trans Zambezi High Way

Six people died following a fatal head-on collision on the B8 Trans Zambezi High Way on Sunday morning.
Three passengers from both vehicles died on the scene, while three others died later at the Chetto Clinic.

The other three of the four passengers who sustained injuries were admitted to Katima Mulilo Hospital's High Care Unit.

It is reported that the driver of the Nissan Note was overtaking a truck when he collided with the oncoming vehicle belonging to the Kongola Constituency Councillor and member of the National Council, Bennett Busihu.

Man crushes into compound

The driver of a Mazda drove into a house in the Chotto compound in Katima Mulilo.

The driver, who was taken into police custody, was tested at the scene, and his alcohol level was found to be over the limit.

The owner of the house, Mutinta Sitali, was still in disbelief as the accident took place while she was in the room that was driven into.

Investigations in Shikongo accident ongoing

The investigations into the head-on collision involving the Inspector General of the Namibian Police Force in which three people died, are still ongoing.
The head of the NamPol’s Public Relations Division, Kauna Shikwambi, told NAMPA upon inquiry on Wednesday there is not yet any information available to disclose to the public.
Inspector General Joseph Shikongo was travelling in his private vehicle when it crashed on the Oshikango-Ondangwa road near Indangungu village.
