ECN seeks court intervention over misallocated Rundu council seat

The Electoral Commission of Namibia has asked the Electoral Court to overturn a decision that led to the wrong allocation of a council seat in the Rundu Local Authority elections.

The ECN said a returning officer made an error when announcing the final allocation of seats.

Swapo’s Mubita urges ||Kharas leaders to deliver quality service

The Swapo Party National Leader assigned to ||Kharas, Charles Mubita, has urged the elected political office bearers to deliver quality service to the electorate.

Dr Mubita made the call during the party's ||Kharas regional executive committee special meeting at Keetmanshoop.

Modestus Amutse appointed new minister of Industries, Mines and Energy

President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has appointed Modestus Amutse as the new Minister of Industries, Mines and Energy, effective 2 December 2025.

Amutse took over from Frans Kapofi, who had been acting in the position since the dismissal of Natangue Ithete in October.

LPM to issue response after losing key strongholds

Independent candidate Mbangu retains Rundu Rural seat

First official results, announced by the Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) Chairperson, Dr. Elsie Nghikembua, showed that Independent Candidate Paulus Mbangu retained his seat as Rundu Rural Constituency Councillor for a second term.
