TUN warns against conflicts that distract school authorities

The Teachers Union of Namibia's Secretary General Mahongora Kavihuha has further sided with the Executive Director of the Education Arts and Culture Ministry, Sanet Steenkamp, who last week gave a stern warning to teachers and school management, asking them to find amicable ways to resolve conflict.

TUN Secretary General agrees with Steenkamp's remarks during the release of the national examination results that there are divisions at schools that divert the attention of officials from executing pertinent work.

SADC proposes that ongoing conflict in eastern DRC be discussed at African Union and UN level

SADC has proposed that the issue of the ongoing conflict in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) be escalated to the African Union and the United Nations.

President Hage Geingob, who is also the Chairperson of the SADC Organ on Politics, Defence, and Security Cooperation, said this during a visit from Huang Xia at the State House.

Huang is the Special Envoy of the UN Secretary-General for the Great Lakes region.

The Chairperson of Organ Troika on Politics, Defense and Security Cooperation Dr. Hage Geingob has called for new approaches to finding solutions to tensions and conflicts in the SADC region.
