The provision of potable water and electricity remains a challenge in Maltahohe and Aranos.

Residents in those areas live in corrugated shelters and share one public- tap.

The residents claimed that one water tap is no more enough as the population has increased in those areas and they have to queue for hours to fetch water.

Some residents including the elderly have to walk a long distance to fetch water from the nearest water point.

There is a high demand for serviced plots countrywide and the government is hard at work to deliver on its promise of providing housing.

Residents of Klein Aub settlement in Rehoboth Rural Constituency received plots of land to build their houses through the Hardap Regional Council.

After finishing the servicing of demarcated land the Klein Aub settlement office listed 40 recipients of whom eight have already received their plot ownership letters to enable them to build their homes.
