The Khorixas District Hospital is in a state of disrepair, facing significant challenges due to inadequate health resources. 

These issues were brought to light during a recent visit by Japan's Ambassador to Namibia, Hisao Nishimaki, and UNICEF Country Representative, Dr. Samuel Ocran.

Japan aids in reducing classrooms backlog at Ndadi Primary School

Japan constructed a block of four classrooms and a storeroom at Ndadi Primary School in the Ohakafiya circuit, Ohangwena Region.

The buildings, valued at N$1.3 million, were constructed through the Japanese Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP).

Japan's Ambassador to Namibia, Hisao Nishimaki, has expressed his satisfaction with several projects funded by the Japanese government in the Ohangwena Region.

Ambassador Nishimaki toured three projects in the region to assess their progress and familiarise himself with their impact. 

Japan supports drought relief efforts

Over 4,000 households in the Kunene and Ohangwena regions will receive drought relief aid for six months. 

This comes after the United Nations World Food Programme, with support from the Government of Japan, donated N$9 million towards the drought relief programme.
