Sasscal, UNAM Collaborate on green hydrogen implementation process

Stakeholders in the implementation process of Green Hydrogen, Sasscal and the University of Namibia shared with nbc-news the role they play in the implementation process of green hydrogen projects.

Sasscal plays a role in fund sourcing and continuous training, whereas UNAM plays a pivotal role in the research of green hydrogen projects.

SASSCAL implements nine major projects in Namibia

Since its inception in 2012, the Southern African Science Service Centre for Climate Change and Adaptive Land Management (SASSCAL) has implemented nine projects to the tune of N$60 million in Namibia.

This was revealed by its Programme Coordinator, Panduleni Hamukwaya, during a media engagement held in Windhoek. 

Hamukwaya says the nine projects in question have been implemented at the community level to help communities deal with the impact of climate change. 

Green Hydrogen Scholarship questioned

The Opuwo Urban Constituency Councillor, Ueutjerevi Ngunaihe, has expressed dissatisfaction over the criteria set for the Youth for Green Hydrogen Scholarship programme. Ngunaihe, who was speaking at the information sharing session conducted by the Southern Africa Science Services Centre for Climate Change and Adaptive Land Management (SASSCAL) in Opuwo, stated that the set standards' disadvantage marginalised residents of the Kunene Region.
