Ondangwa Town Council donates bricks for school hall construction at Shinime Shiivula Primary

The Ondangwa Town Council has made a generous contribution towards educational infrastructure by donating bricks towards the construction of a school hall at Shinime Shiivula Primary School in the town.

This donation marks a significant step towards improving the school's facilities and the educational environment for its students.

School authorities wrote to the Ondangwa Town Council last year requesting support for the construction of a school hall.

Ondangwa Town Council set aside N$2,4 million for construction of Build Together Houses

Ondangwa Town Council has set aside N$2.4 million for the construction of 31 Build Together Houses at the Onatsi-Proper informal settlement.

The ground-breaking ceremony for the project took place at Ondangwa.

The houses, which will be completed in two months, are for low-income earners.

Beneficiaries are expected to pay N$105 per month to enable the council to continue availing land to those who are on the waiting list.

The payment will end as soon as beneficiaries are issued title deeds.

Ondangwa Town Council commences construction of houses at Extension 26

The Ondangwa Town Council has commenced the construction of houses at Extension 26.

There are around 300 erven and most of them are already occupied.

Houses at extension 26 cost between N$300 000 and N$600 000.

Ondangwa Town Council Chief Executive Officer, Ismael Namgongo says the council has appointed enough developers to fast-track the processes to enable owners to move into their houses in a short period of time.

The houses are expected to be completed at the end of this year.

Ondangwa Town Council constructs water reservoir

The Ondangwa Town Council has allocated grounds for the construction of an elevated water reservoir, to secure constant water for its new extensions.

This was revealed by the town's Chief Executive Officer Ismael Namgongo in an interview with nbc news.

The elevated water reservoir is part of the Ondangwa council's development to be carried out during this financial year.

The reservoir will provide water to extension, 24, 25, 26 Uupopo and Gwashamba areas.

The water tower will increase pressure and hours of water provision.

Ondangwa Town Council formalizes Uupopo settlements

Residents of Uupopo Proper and Uupopo number one will now have plots in their names after the Ondangwa Town Council formalized the areas.

Ondangwa Town Council Public Relations Officer Patrina Shitalangaho-Mutikisha explained that the council saw it fit to formalize the informal settlement to improve the living standard of residents.

Residents who are working are now able to use their housing subsidies and build decent houses unlike in the past when this was prohibited.
