Three Namibian marathon runners missed the top 20 at the Zurich Seville Marathon in Spain, raising concerns for Olympic qualification.

Olympic aspirations turned to disappointment for the three Namibian long-distance runners at the Zurich Seville Marathon, as none managed to crack the top 20, casting doubt on their Paris dreams.

Helalia Johannes, a seasoned athlete with four Olympic appearances and a decorated career, along with Alina Armas and Daniel Paulus, represented Namibia in the 42-kilometer race.

NNOC to celebrate development of sports and peace at Osire

In light of a new resolution aimed at celebrating international sports events under the theme Development of Sport and Peace by the United Nations General Assembly, the Namibia National Olympic Committee and Commonwealth Games Association will celebrate the day with primary and secondary school leaners at the Osire Refugee Camp on Wednesday. Osire is situated 200 km north of the capital Windhoek. It was established in 1992 to accommodate refugees from Angola, Burundi, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Rwanda and Somalia.
