A N$70,000 donation from Swakop Uranium is set to support Ovahimba community women-owned businesses living at the foot of the Brandberg Mountain.

Namibia University of Science and Technology's (NUST) Computer Science Lecturer Heike Winschiers-Theophilus, along with her students, have been committed to preserving Namibia's indigenous cultures through digital technology. 

Following weeks of 15 OvaHimba families living alongside the road on the outskirts of Kamanjab Settlement, the Kunene Regional Council has intervened to assist the group, that was evicted from a resettlement farm in the area. 

Family members from 17 households in the OvaHimba community have been evicted from a resettlement farm on the outskirts of Kamanjab in the Kunene Region.

The affected families, who have been living alongside the gravel road for two weeks now, said they have nowhere to go.
