Bishop Kleopas Dumeni praises Dr. Geingob as exemplary humanitarian

The Evangelical Lutheran Church in Namibia's (ELCIN), retired Bishop Kleopas Dumeni, says the late Head of State was a great man and an exemplary humanitarian. 

Dumeni says he had the privilege of meeting the late President Hage Geingob back in exile and has fond memories of working closely with him at the Council of Churches in Namibia and at a Lutheran World Federation meeting they both attended. 

Erongo Region honours President Geingob through memorial drive

Municipalities and town councils in the Erongo Region also honoured the late President Hage Geingob through a memorial drive.

All emergency response vehicles in the region led the Memorial Drive convoy.

The parade aimed to give residents a moment to reflect on the service the late Geingob delivered to Namibia.

Workers spoke highly of the late president's service and leadership style at the Swakopmund municipality.

Late President Hage Geingob's children share memories

The children of the late President Hage Geingob shared fond memories of their father at a memorial service last night at Casa Rosalia.

The late Geingob's eldest daughter, Nangula Geingos, spoke about her father's love for every Namibian, describing him as someone who fathered the entire nation with equal love and concern. 

Kayla Elago highlighted her father's inspirational nature and selflessness, expressing gratitude for his care and concern for others. 

Government allocates N$2.8 million for regional memorial services

The government has allocated N$2.8 million to all 14 regions of the country towards the hosting of regional memorial services. 

Each region received N$200,000.

So far, the Oshana, Hardap, and Kunene regions have hosted their memorial services.

Oshikoto, Ohangwena, and Kavango West Regions will host theirs on Wednesday, while Omusati and Kavango East memorial services will take place on Thursday.

Some of those who want to attend the late President Hage Geingob's funeral and memorial service are appealing to the government to provide transport.

Zambezi Traditional Authorities pay homage late President Geingob

The Masubia, Mayeyi, Mafwe, and Mashi Traditional Authorities say the memories of Dr. Geingob as a freedom fighter and persevering statesman are legacies that need to be honored.

Political parties in Zambezi commend late President Geingob as a committed leader

Four political parties in Zambezi Region have commended the late President Hage Geingob as a leader of note who committed himself to Namibia's prosperity.

Political parties remarked on this at a regional memorial service organised by the regional council.

The National Democratic Party (NDP) representative, Success Musialike, noted that Dr. Geingob set a bar high for all Namibians in upholding high etiquette, values, and morals.

Dr. Hage Geingob empowered the youth

President Hage Geingob, during his tenure as president, proved his will to empower and trust the youth with responsibility.

Among the notable beneficiaries of his good intentions was Marius Sheya, who, at the age of 29, became the country's youngest Governor to head the Kunene Region in January 2018.

Chief Manasse Zeraeua remembers late Dr. Geingob

Chief Manasse Christian Zeraeua of the Zeraeua Royal House has joined scores of other traditional authority leaders mourning the death of the late President Hage Geingob, saying he will remember him as a Pan-Africanist.

The leader pointed out that he shared close relations with the late Dr. Geingob for the past 46 years.

Chief Zeraeua was speaking at a candlelight service at Omatjete Settlement in Omaruru Constituency in the Erongo Region.

The event started with traditional Herero cultural rituals to signal mourning.
