President Nangolo Mbumba has extended well wishes to former President Hifikepunye Pohamba, who turned 89 today.

Eswatini's request to be removed from the agenda of the SADC Organ Troika has been granted.

The removal follows report submissions by the Kingdom to the regional body during the 44th Ordinary Summit in Harare, Zimbabwe.

President Nangolo Mbumba says today the SADC region can look back to the past 32 years with pride and a sense of achievement.

President Nangolo Mbumba is expected to emphasise the primacy of peace and stability in the SADC region during his maiden address at the 44th ordinary summit of the regional bloc. 

The summit is scheduled to take place from the 16th–17th of August in the Zimbabwean capital, Harare.

President Nangolo Mbumba has granted the request by the Boundaries Delimitation and Demarcation Commission to extend its work programme for another month.

The commissioners submitted a preliminary report to Dr. Mbumba at State House on Wednesday.

The Minister of International Relations and Cooperation (MIRCO), Peya Mushelenga, says the UN Security Council cannot keep postponing the fulfilment of the desires of Africans to reform the institution for broader representation.

The endorsement of candidates for international organisations, industrialisation of the SADC region, and progress of implementation of previous resolutions were some of the discussion points for the SADC senior officials meeting.
