Patient dies while waiting for medical help at Katutura Clinic

A man died while waiting for medical assistance at the Katutura Health Centre in Windhoek on Monday night. 

The family and sympathisers present at the clinic have expressed disappointment and concern over the handling of the situation.

Reports have it that an alleged lack of assistance and overcrowding at the clinic have left many patients feeling neglected and underserved of late.

Global dignitaries pay respects at President Geingob's funeral

A representative of King Charles III of the United Kingdom, Princess Anne, was among the people from around the world who attended the funeral service of the late President Hage Geingob. 

Princess Anne visited Casa Rosalia to personally offer her condolences to the former first family and sign the Book of Condolence. 

The Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations and Chair of the United Nations Sustainable Development Group, Amina Mohammed, along with the UN Resident Coordinator in Namibia, Hopolang Phororo, also showed family support.

The Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Moussa Faki Mahamat, visited Casa Rosalia to offer his condolences to former First Lady Monica Geingos and the children.

During his visit, Mahamat highlighted the significance of Namibia as a product of continental solidarity and organisation, emphasising the unity and strength that bind African nations. 

He shared personal experiences of benefiting from the late Geingob's guidance and brotherly counsel, recounting a meaningful dinner where they discussed the future of Africa for over 30 minutes.

A memorial service was held in honour of the late President, Hage Geingob at the Independence Arena in Katutura, with tributes and messages of admiration from various speakers.

The Executive Chairperson of the National Youth Council, Sharonice Busch, expressed gratitude for President Geingob's support of the youth and his belief in their potential, while Carol ||Garoës, Special Advisor to the Pan African Women Organisation President, praised the late Geingob as an effective administrator and a man who cherished peace. 

Green Hydrogen takes over

Over the past two years, Namibians have been hit by a new craze.

Two words have taken over all major discussions in the country, and everybody wants to understand them and be part of them. That's green hydrogen.

Green hydrogen is also known as renewable hydrogen or clean energy.

It is produced by using renewable energy sources such as wind and sunlight and splitting hydrogen from oxygen through a process called electrolysis of water.

So, basically, there is a water molecule, which is split into oxygen and hydrogen.
